Beautiful home with amazing views!
We had a party of six for a friends’ weekend at The Lodge. The house is beautiful and very well-stocked. The owners have literally thought of everything! It feels like you are staying at someone’s full-time home: the kitchen has every dish, pan, spice, etc that you could ever ask for and is perfect for cooking every meal! The house and all of the furnishings are very well maintained and everything was sparkling clean. We will be back for sure! Thank you to Ned for being such a gracious host!

Perfect getaway
This property has it all, so much so that we didn’t get to do everything we planned! Beautiful setting, furnishings, linens, and lodge! We celebrated our family Christmas, everyone thought it was the best one yet, there was room enough for everyone and we managed very well. We walked on the beach, took a ferry to Port Townsend, had dinner in Coupeville, hiked around Deception pass and played a lot of games. We had brought along a speaker so we had Christmas music playing and beautiful fires in the fireplaces, and outdoor fire pit, we even had a dusting of snow – so a magical Christmas it was! Highly recommend!

The Holiday….in Paradise!
When we found Soaring Eagle Lodge through VRBO, we were excited to book this property for our annual weekend getaway. Upon arrival, our jaws dropped at the stunning beauty of both the lodge and surrounding area. And the view!!! When we entered the lodge, the movie ‘The Holiday’ came to mind as we explored room to room! The cozy feel and peaceful environment in this spacious lodge made us feel welcome. We very much enjoyed the fireplaces and hot tub! The kitchen is second to none! The guest rooms were lovely. We have been raving about Soaring Eagle Lodge to our family and friends. What a wonderful weekend we had! Of course, the time went by so quickly; we highly recommend booking for more than just 2 days! Thank you Ned!!

Perfect place for a special Anniversary
Our visit to Soaring Eagle was perfect. Equipped with ALL needs and well exceeded our expectations. Being a VRBO owner I truly appreciated all the extras & niceties. Our family enjoyed the fireplaces & playing games. The gourmet kitchen was awesome. Our family definitely wants to return again to such an awesome property.

Exceptional Experience
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Soaring Eagle Lodge for 5 days and have nothing but good things to share. The property was spotless and even more beautiful than the pictures online. The views from the backyard and also from the beach were breathtaking. We enjoyed early mornings around the fire pit on the back patio sipping coffee and watching for the Eagles that frequented the nest above the bluff. Late nights were spent in front of the fireplace playing chess or one of the many board games found in the library. Having booked multiple vacation rentals over the past few years- we all certainly agree that this experience was above and beyond the norm. We will definitely be back.

A Place to Relax and Rejuvenate!
This is our 5th year coming to this home and enjoying a ladies weekend. The house is beautiful and has all of the amenities that you need to cook and enjoy meals while taking in the breathtaking view! The owners are fabulous to work with and did everything to ensure our stay was memorable. Of course we will be back next year!

Stunning Home
From the second you pull up you know it’s gonna be good!! This home is amazingly beautiful! Super clean and stocked better than any home we have ever rented (and we have rented a lot)!! They have every spice you’ll ever need and then some! The bedrooms are all beautiful with super comfortable beds! Heated floors in the bathroom..well now I want them at home 🙂 We had 8 adults staying here and there was plenty of room, no one every felt like they were in anyone’s way. We all had our own space when needed! We cooked in almost every night (which is something we very seldom do) but the kitchen just calls to you to cook in! We enjoyed every evening after a full day of sight seeing out by the fire, best fire pit ever! We made some special memories around it! We even made a fire a couple mornings! The patio and yard are just awesome. I cannot say enough how very much we enjoyed our stay! We kept watch for eagles and never saw them in the nest but believe we did see a younger one flying. The view is beyond beautiful, we never got tired of it!! I would highly recommend this home! You will not be disappointed!!

Breathtaking
From the moment you walk into the lodge, you will be stunned by how beautiful everything is. Immediately upon opening the front door, you are treated with a gorgeous view of Mt. Baker and the water. The house is spacious, with luxury amenities. We enjoyed the heated floors in the bathrooms, the sleep number beds, and the hot tub. There are also some beautiful Tiffany-style lamps in the home. The kitchen is large, and we cooked several meals there. The kitchen is stocked with just about every spice known to man. One evening we counted over 30 eagles flying by the water at sunset. While we were there, it appeared that the eagle’s nest is back in use. An eagle stayed on the nest for the last two days of our visit. Hopefully there will be an eaglet or two soon! We are really hoping to return to the lodge some day.

Perfection!
Soaring Eagle Lodge was amazing! Every detail in this house is perfect and clearly has been well thought out with a personal touch. The living room has beautiful windows looking out over the Sound. The interior leaded doors and cabinet doors, and the front stained-glass door (a mirror image of the view of an Eagle flying over the Sound with Mt. Baker in the background) are beautiful. The Lodge is stunning both inside and out, and has everything you might conceivably need, x2 in some cases (2 dishwashers, 2 microwaves, 2 sets of silverware, etc.!). Multiple fireplaces, leather chairs, wilderness-themed artwork, hardwood floors, etc. all create a warm, but elegant, lodge ambience. It was also kid friendly, with lots of DVDs and toys for the kids. The grounds were perfectly kept, with a view of the Sound, and bald eagles literally nesting in the trees and soaring back-and-forth in front of the house. Our kids got a special treat, enjoying the company of a stray goat that wandered onto the property that we named “Belle” and who also took a liking to the home during a short stay before she found a new home. We had a great time visiting Port Townsend, Deer Lake for swimming and canoeing, Fairhaven district in Bellingham, Lakes Whatcom and Samish, Deception Pt. State Park, Coupeville, Four Winds Camp on Orcas Island and many other nearby sites. Whidbey Island, and Soaring Eagle Lodge in particular, is a very special place.

Fabulous Five Star Luxury Home
Five girlfriends from Minnesota visited Whidbey Island for a fall trip. We stayed four nights at Soaring Eagle Lodge which was the highlight of our trip. The home was amazing from the moment we turned in the driveway we were in awe. From the outside, the grounds were very well maintained with beautiful landscaping and breath taking views of the sound. There are multiply outdoor sitting areas both on the front porch, back patio and the outdoor hot tub area. Inside the home is fabulous and very well appointed. The kitchen was huge and has anything you could possibly think of for cooking just about anything. We picked up some salmon and dungoness crab and had a wonderful feast. The den area off the kitchen was a cozy room for sitting by the fireplace to have morning coffee and planning our days activities. The three story great room with it’s fireplace and breath taking views was our gathering space in the evenings. The master suite on the main floor had a wonderful bed with luxury bedding and yet another fireplace. The bathroom in the master suite was very spa like, with a large jacuzzi tub, separate shower, double sinks, heated ceramic floors and walking in closet. Also located on the main floor was a large office with a sleeper sofa. Upstairs were two more beautiful bedrooms and another fabulous bathroom. The entire property is very well maintained. and I can’t say enough about this property. I would highly recommend it. Whidbey Island is a beautiful place to visit with plenty of shopping, wineries, nature and outdoor activities or just rest and relaxation.

Soaring Excellence!!
Where to begin?
Soaring Eagle Lodge delivers far more than you could ever expect in a vacation rental. Every last detail has been thought of, and put into place long before you arrive in this incredible home. We visited as part of a multi-generational family retreat, and everyone from our 22-month old daughter to grandma/grandpa had a memorable time. Since we were traveling with two small children, we didn’t venture away from the lodge much…, which was perfectly okay with us. We could have easily stayed a second week, and probably a third, and beyond… just taking in life at the “lodge”. We enjoyed everything from preparing meals in the well-appointed kitchen, to hiking down to the beach to look for washed-up treasures. At night we roasted marshmallows and drank wine next to the crackling fire. During the day we curled up next to a fire one of the fireplaces, went on nature hikes or just hung out in the lawn watching nature in front of us. The baby eagle was a wonderful bonus, but beyond her (assuming it’s a “her”) the rest of the wildlife & nature was amazing and fun to see. It was beyond peaceful. It was beyond relaxing. It was perfect for what we wanted and needed.
I’ve traveled to nearly every single corner of the globe, staying in some of the top luxury hotels that can be found. Soaring Eagle Lodge is right up there with the best!! Additionally, I’ve rented many homes on vacation rental websites (including Home Away), and this is positively my favorite home yet. It provides you with everything it promises, and the descriptions are beyond accurate. You can be confident in what you are going to get when you make a booking… and it will deliver more than you see online.
We will certainly return. And if you decide to visit… I am certain to guarantee that you will also desire to book a return visit to Soaring Eagle Lodge in your future. I wish that I could call this place mine forever.
